Celebrate St Patrick's Day in London

02/02/2012

London is gearing up for its yearly St Patrick’s Day festivities, which will once again show how you don’t need to be in Ireland to experience the best of the Emerald Isle.

The day itself is on March 17, but the capital will enjoy its annual parade marking the occasion on the 18th. Always an event to remember, the St Patrick’s Day Parade represents all 32 Irish counties and includes floats, street theatre performances and marching bands. Starting at 12pm from Piccadilly, the lively procession makes its way through Regent Street and Trafalgar Square before finishing at Whitehall.

Coinciding with the famous parade is the St Patrick’s Day Festival in Trafalgar Square. Featuring traditional Irish music and dancing, as well as guest celebrity speakers, this will be another excellent way to enjoy the day.

If you are staying at a London bed and breakfast this March, don’t forget to go along to the St Patrick’s Day celebrations and discover how the city marks this historic day
