Damien Hirst exhibit set for
London's Tate Modern
09/02/2012
The work of famed English artist Damien
Hirst is to be exhibited at London’s Tate Modern.
Renowned for his unusual artistic
pieces, the first substantial survey of Damien Hirst’s work
held in the UK will run at the gallery from 4 April – 9
September.
Spanning two decades, his works on
display will include ‘Mother and Child Divided’ - a four
–part sculpture of a bisected cow and calf, ‘The Physical
Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living’- a
suspended shark in formaldehyde and ‘A Thousand Years’-
where a cow’s head, flies and insect-o-cutor (an insect
control system) represent the cycle of life.
It is an exciting opportunity for fans
of the controversial artist, who first made his name when he
and fellow Goldsmiths College students created Freeze, an
influential display staged in an abandoned London warehouse
in 1988.
Should you be planning a stay in any
cheap accommodation in London this spring and summer, be
sure to drop by and see work by one of the most talented
British artists around.
