International squash competition headed for London
London is preparing to welcome back the
ISS Squash Classic for the ninth time this spring, which
will see last year’s champion and world number one and
Commonwealth Games gold medallist Nick Matthew attempt to
defend his title.
The intense competition, which is part
of the Professional Squash Association’s World Tour, will be
held at the amazing Eventis Pro-Court in Canary Wharf’s East
Wintergarden.
The world’s top male professional
players will try and topple the aforementioned Matthew, who
has been in scintillating form of late, having recently
defeated fellow Commonwealth men’s doubles gold medallist
Adrian Grant at the quarter-final stage in the Tournament of
Champions at Grand Central Terminal in New York.
Surprisingly, Squash is still not an
Olympic sport, so it might be the only opportunity to see
world class squash live in the capital this year. Why not
book tickets for the event and combine it with a stay in
some of the fine
hostels in London?
