London Zoo preparing for stock take with a difference
The City of London Zoo, one of London's
most popular tourist destinations, is preparing to make an
astonishing stocktake; with staff given the laborious task
of counting every single animal from more than 750 species
in their possession.
The stocktake is designed to note down
every animal housed in the zoo, including the likes of
penguins, monkeys and komodo dragons. With every penguin
individually tagged, it might seem an easy task to count
them. However with a brand new 1,200 sq metre enclosure for
them to roam in, it’s the exact opposite for the team of
penguin specialists.
The London Zoo remains open during the
stocktake, while it's not known how long the arduous task
will take to complete. It remains one of the premier
attractions in the English capital, a place where you can
observe animals from all around the world in one place. It’s
the perfect place to visit while taking advantage of some of
the fantastic
hostels in London.
