Damien Hirst artwork unveiled
at London Burger King
13/07/2012
A tasty piece of artwork has been installed in a London
Burger King joint, further enhancing the capital’s
reputation for embracing the arts this summer.
Famed artist Damien Hirst, who is
friends with the franchisee who owns the location in
Leicester Square, lent the eatery the painting called
‘Beautiful Naked Psychedelic Gherkin Exploding Tomato Source
All Over Your Face, Flame Grilled Painting 2003’, a mouthful
of a title in itself.
Valued between £150,000 to £400,000 in
2008 by Sotheby’s, the painting is his second piece of art
to be installed in a London eatery in recent times, after a
Hereford cow and cockerel preserved in a steel and glass
tank of formaldehyde was unveiled at the trendy London
restaurant Tramshed.
Should you fancy a bite to eat whilst
taking in all the attractions on offer during your stay in
one of the excellent
London hostels this summer, drop by for a delicious
burger and take in this stunning piece of art for free.
