28/06/2012
In
some extraordinary news for London, there has been
suggestion that the capital could welcome the glitz and
glamour of the grand prix in years to come.
A fantastic development for the city,
whilst also pleasing motorsport fans across the country, it
comes after Formula One figurehead Bernie Ecclestone pledged
his support for the proposal, even suggesting he would
financially back it should it go ahead.
With the route set to pass iconic
landmarks in the city such as Trafalgar Square and
Buckingham Palace, it is hoped the event could generate as
much as £100 million for the city’s economy, with the race
itself expected to cost just £35 million.
The plans for the race are set to be
unveiled in an event at Pall Mall tonight, with British
drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jensen Button both expected to be
in attendance.
It could become a great addition to the
city, allowing more and more visitors to experience the
splendour of the capital. If you plan to explore this great
city yourself in the coming months, why not book into one of
the many
London hostels?
