22/06/2012
Legendary musician Sir Elton John has announced he is to
perform live in London this September, joining a stellar
line-up of artists for the Peace One Day Celebration event.
Sir Elton
John is regarded among the finest musicians of his
generation; responsible for a catalogue of timeless hits
including ‘Your song’ 'Rocket man’ and ‘Candle in the Wind’.
Founded in
1999 by film maker Jeremy Gilley, it is a concert aimed to
discourage violence across the world, persuading countries
to lay down their weapons to create the largest annual day
of ceasefire. A string of impeccable musicians and groups
have graced the stages of the Peace One Day Celebration
concert in previous years, with the likes of Annie Lennox,
Cat Stevens, Corrine Bailey Rae and Kate Nash all doing
their bit for the global cause.
Tickets for
this year’s performance are currently on sale, taking place
at Wembley Arena on 21 September. If you don’t want to miss
any of the action, why not book your ticket together with a
stay in one of the affordable
London hostels?
