08/05/2012
American band Beirut are set for a
performance in London this coming September, heading to the
English capital as part of a series of dates across Europe.
The group have a unique sound,
incorporating strands of Indie, rock and world music into
their catalogue of hits. They were unleashed onto the music
scene back in 2005, with their debut album 'Gulag Orkestar'
falling to great acclaim and even winning the coveted 2006
Best Album award from UK record store Rough Trade. Their
follow up arrived in the form of The Flying Cub Cup in 2007,
a release that peaked at 69 on the UK Charts. Following a
lengthy tour in both the US and Brazil, Beirut moved to
release their third album 'The Rip Tide'. It experienced
success all over the US & Europe, listed in the charts of 13
different countries including a number 7 in Belgium.
Beirut will be performing live at
London's Hammersmith Apollo on 14 September, offering a
fantastic show for anyone staying in one of the
London bed and breakfast locations over the dates. With
tickets still available, why not book your place before it's
too late?
