Exhibition announces Westminster dates
20/02/2012
Art enthusiasts staying in London
during the summer months will be treated to one of the
greatest showcases in the world, as the Royal Academy Summer
Exhibition returns. It is the largest contemporary art
exhibition of its kind, bringing a selection of works from
the most revered and celebrated artists around as well as
pieces from rising starlets.
Dating back as early as the 18th
century, it stands as an annual event to help the promotion
of artists and the remarkable skill they possess. With more
than 10,000 pieces on display year after year, it’s a chance
for artists to gain some recognition for their exploration
into the boundaries of the contemporary field.
Featuring at the Royal Academy of Arts
in Westminster from 4 June to 12 August, it offers a
fascinating spectacle. If you’re staying in any of the
London hostels
during the period, be sure to come along and have a browse
through the artwork. With display pieces also to be put on
sale, you might even find yourself leaving the event with a
masterpiece?
