FAQs
How do I Book and Pay? A small deposit
is required to book a place in residences.
This will be
deducted from your total bill on payment. All bookings are
processed by the Travelstay Network booking system. You will
be held responsible for rent for the entire period booked
and you may not sub-let rooms. Full payment
will be taken in advance of arrival on 1st June
2008 or 5 days after booking (which ever is later). Payment
will be debited from the card used to make the booking
unless we are advised otherwise. Unfortunately we cannot
accept bank transfers as payment.
Why
does it take so long to search? The booking
system checks each day that you are searching for, as all
bookings through this site are for long stays this sometimes
takes several minutes, especially on slow connections. If
you know which residence you would like to stay in you
can speed up the search by choosing one residence only on the
search page.
What is
the Cancellation and Refund Policy? Booking
deposits are non-refundable. You may cancel
your booking up to 12 noon on 1st June 2008. Bookings made after 1st June 2008 may be cancelled within 5
days of booking.
After
this you will be expected to pay for the entire period
booked. To cancel your booking please e-mail
vacations@lse.ac.uk. There are no refunds for early departures.
Can I modify
my booking?
Modifications can be made subject to availability but must
be completed by 12noon on 1st June 2008.
Bookings made after 1st June 2008 may be modified within 5
days of booking. Modifications may be subject
to a fee.
To make a
modification to your booking please e-mail
vacations@lse.ac.uk
with your name,
reference number and new dates. Modifications are subject to
availability and must remain within our minimum stay policy.
Is there
Internet Access? We
regret that network services are not available to students
not registered with the LSE unless your home institution is
registered for 'JANET roaming'. You will need to check with
your own IT department. For more information please visit
http://ittraining.lse.ac.uk/Documentation/onlineGuides/JanetRoaming.htm
Is the room
cleaned? This
varies between residences and depends on the package that you
book; At Bankside
House, Carr-Saunders and Passfield Hall your room
will be regularly cleaned throughout your stay and communal
areas in the residences are cleaned daily. At Sidney Webb
House your room will not be cleaned but the en-suite bathrooms will be
cleaned once every two weeks. Communal areas within the

cleaned on a daily basis. At Butler's Wharf if you book a
full service package (£28 per night) then your room and communal
areas will be cleaned regularly. If you book a basic
package (£25 per night) then your room will be cleaned prior
to arrival only.
Is breakfast
included? No,
rooms are sold on a room only basis. At Bankside,
Carr-Saunders and Passfield breakfast is served in the
Dining Room, and may be purchased on a pay as you eat basis
(from 6th July only at Carr-Saunders and Passfield). At
Butler's Wharf and Sidney Webb House kitchen and cooking facilities are provided.
We do not include breakfast because most people on work
placements and internships leave before our breakfast
service starts.
Who else will

housing LSE students as they finish term. From 5th July we
operate as commercial accommodation taking a wide range of
